Blue Compass buyers could see 20 cents off a gallon of diesel

RVers who buy a rig from a Blue Compass dealership could see big savings when they fill up at Love’s. Examples include 20 cents off a gallon of diesel, or 13 cents off gasoline.

More than just 20 cents off a gallon of diesel

The incentive-to-buy program put out by Blue Compass features exclusive discounts touting “the largest discount offered from Love’s for any RV dealership group.” Here’s the full breakdown of discounts:

  • $0.13 off each gallon of gasoline
  • $0.20 off each gallon of auto-diesel
  • $0.50 off each gallon of propane
  • 50% off at dump tations

Is there a catch?

20 cents off a gallon of diesel? So what’s the catch? In addition to having to buy an RV from Blue Compass, “the RV Complete app … comes at no charge for the first year of RV ownership.” Just how much the app costs, or if it is available after the first year, isn’t clear.

Jaded readers might suggest that in some cases, RVers will spend most of their “first year of ownership” with their rigs, not filling up at Love’s, but waiting for repairs.

Mudflap and TDS Open road typically offer $0.50 and up discounts. I just filled up my 46 gallon tank with a $0.55 discount using Mudflap. Plus diesel at the Love’s station was $0.20 more per gallon to start with. They’ve got to do better to get my business – and no RV purchase required.

Yep..you beat me to it.

I’ve sometimes gotten as much as $.90 a gallon off diesel…and that is against competitive area fuel prices…using the TSD card.

Stopped at a Blue Compass to look at a new DP just six weeks ago. Even though we are valid cash buyers, our treatment was much less than I would have expected. Apparently they don’t even allow interested buyers to test drive until AFTER all negotiations have been completed. Well, how do you do finalize negotiations before driving and inspecting? Will never walk into another Blue Compass location.

Thank you, Russ and Tina! 🙂 That’s a pretty nice discount on diesel fuel. 🙂 But, I just checked my Open Roads application for a nearby Love’s truck stop (Loudon, Tennessee). The pump price was listed as $3.95/gallon and the Open Roads discounted price was $3.38/gallon; so, a bit better than via Blue Compass. 🙂 Safe travels! 🙂

The TSD/Open Roads program has saved an average of 11.7% per gallon of diesel since I joined in 2019. I didn’t have to buy a new RV either!

$.20 per gallon discount at Love’s ? They are typically priced $.40 per gallon higher than regular fuel stops. I have been full-time for 3-1/2 years now and use Gas Buddy to find the cheapest diesel prices. Also have the Shell discount card for an extra $.10 off.
