Cape Cod KOA to host Crantoberfest

The 6th annual Crantoberfest will be held Saturday, October 5, at the Boston/Cape Cod KOA from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $2 per carload.

Events include the great Cranberry Bakeoff at 1 p.m. All entries must contain cranberries and include a list of ingredients.

Miss Crantoberfest 2019 will be crowned at 2 p.m. Contestants will give an opening statement as to why they think they would be the best Miss Crantoberfest followed by questions about the cranberry industry. The winner receives a crown and sash and gets to represent the local tourism agency at events throughout the year.

The Cabin Decorating Contest is back. If you love cranberries and the Halloween season, try your hand at decorating a cabin at the KOA. Cash prizes of $150, $100 and $50 are awarded for cabins that receive the most votes from attendees. Space is limited so if you want a cabin, please contact DiscoverMiddleborough@gmail.com immediately.

Cranberry Games will be available all day for kids of all ages at no charge. There will be food, merchandise vendors, a beer garden and Middleborough 350 merchandise all available for purchase.

As long as it doesn’t rain. This KOA was one of the worst we’ve stayed at. Sloping grass spots that become mud holes and bring an extra length of water hose. Our water access was 30′ away on a post shared by 4 others. It seems campgrounds are few and far between in the Cape Cod area but we won’t stay there again. If you do stay there, we hope others have a better experience than we did.
