How many miles will you travel with your RV through the end of 2020?

33

We know it’s been a weird year for traveling, but hopefully you’ve found safe ways to get on the road. Do you have any trips planned for the rest of 2020? How many miles will you travel with your RV during the remaining three months of this year?

With the holidays quickly approaching, we’re betting some of you will be on the road soon enough. How far will you travel?

Please tell us in the poll below. Leave a comment too if you’re comfortable sharing your upcoming trips. We’d love to hear where you’re headed!

It is not Trump who makes that decision. It is decided by the 2 governments not one.

We traded our TT in Sept. for a shorter one on our last trip ( got a 2021 Rockwood mini lite 2511s). Then went in for a Rotor Cuff repair on myself. We are planning one more trip to see grandkids in Kansas city, Mo. in Nov around Thanksgiving. (that is if I can get out of this shoulder sling I have to wear after the surgery).

I have already done over five thousand miles in June, I hope to enjoy Texas and the Southwest the next two months.

Had to make some adjustments for these times but overall, it was a good year for us.
We took a local trip with our motorhome at least every other week this summer. Once to a KOA to hang out with close (healthy) friends, but the rest were at friends that have a lot of property and were able to give us access to electric for A/C. Now that it’s fall, we can just boondock. We stayed safe, got to enjoy the local area instead of developing cabin fever, all while saving a bunch of money.

Unfortunately, with the virus, our usual summer long trip got cancelled. We have made one quickie, and may make another if cold weather doesn’t catch up with us first.

I know some people are concerned about RV travel this year and I respect their decision. My wife and I are very careful and closely follow the CDC Protocols. However, I think RV travel is one of the safest forms of recreation. We typically boondock (even before Covid) and feel very safe. Currently we are in an RV park because this is our last trip of the year and I need hookups to prepare the RV for winter storage. But over the next few days we will be riding our bikes on the coastal trails and can do so safely.

We (including the motorhome) are in storage until a handle on the virus can be accomplished.

and what if it is here to stay, like the flu? they still don’t have a cure for AIDS….. whatever makes you feel safe but people either let it own their life or get back to living life and not being a hostage.

There will be a viable vaccine eventually that will reduce (maybe even eliminate) the chances of catching this virus…. we just have to be patient. Going out and about just increases the possibility of coming into contact with those who may or may not know they are carrying this bug that could have dire consequences for me or my DW. It’s not about being a hostage…it’s all about staying alive.

We will do two more trips to the lake and a run up to North Carolina before the ends of the year. About 1600 miles total and 20 days!

We leave next Saturday for a 3600 mile trip from Seattle to visit the Mighty 5 National Parks in Utah (plus Death Valley on the way back). That’s probably our last big trip of the year but hopeful we can get in a couple of short weekend trips as well.

Have done 9,000 miles, pre and post Covid. One other trip, about 600 miles, we canceled due to fires here in CA. Done for the year. But will be taking off in January for our annual trip to Florida, God willing.

Took in-laws to metro Denver and back to see grandchildren (2500-mile round trip) and a few other trips, including to manufacturer for repairs (1000-mile roundtrip) June through September. Plan to go to metro DC for several days later this month, which will be about an 1100-mile roundtrip.

Never got out of Alaska, which was fine with us! This was the year of the Alaskan, instead of the year of the tourist. But we got to play tourist in our own state this year. Was unable to cross the Canadian Border due to COVID. But we did visit Fairbanks 4 times, Seward 3 times Kenai and Homer once and spent a week in the Hoo Doo Mountains (where the Arctic Man Snowmachine race is held each year.) However, truth be told, we do miss the tourists! But it was nice to be able to get camping spots whoever we traveled.

How sweet that must have been. Here in Florida it’s tourist season year round which makes it difficult for us to be tourist in our home state.

This is the time of year when going out can be a breeze, but coming back could be a nightmare. We live far enough north snow can come anytime now. And if not here, between “there” & here.

We workcamp and committed to stay the winter at our current job. So no traveling for us.

Will not be traveling much. We are on the road now returning from over three thousand mile journey up north. It will be time to winterize soon so it will be short jaunts for the rest of the year.
