About what time do you most often go to bed at night?

According to HealthDigest, the average American goes to bed at 11:39 p.m. Across the globe, that time is just about the same: 11:40 p.m. on weekdays, and 12:10 a.m. on weekends.

Where do you fall in that spectrum? What time do you most often go to bed at night? Is it early, before 9 p.m.? Do you make it until about 10:30? 11? Midnight? Later?

We all have different routines and sleep schedules, whether they’re shaped by work, family, or personal habits. Maybe you’re an early riser who values an early bedtime, or perhaps you find yourself staying up late for some “me time” after a busy day.

Do you stick to a consistent schedule, or does your bedtime shift depending on the day of the week?

After you vote in the poll, please feel free to be more specific in the comments and answer the above questions. Let us know what drives your bedtime routine! Thanks!

Well, it depends. When I younger and searching for a female companion it was no particular time frame- leave it at that. Now that at 76 and successful at a permanent end to that search-leave it at that- hopefully “the Boss” will not read this 9 pm is usual.

Checked earlier than 9 – actually go to bed at 8, read for an hour, and turn off the light at 9.

And dogs seem to like to stretch out across the bed vs head to foot!

Going to bed at 11:40PM??? How do people get up and go to work…Oh, wait they’re either not working or they’re “working” from home.

I worked from home about 18 of my 38 year career. Having a global role I was in meetings with my colleagues in various countries around the world from 5 or 6am until 10 or 11pm many days. It wasn’t “working,” it was WORKING! 🙂

Thank you for your work ethic. Judging from an ever increasing number of major corporations rethinking their work at home policies, you may be an exception.

In bed just after 10pm CT, probably read a little bit before lights out.

Even after being retired for 8 years, I’m still on my work schedule. 10-11 and up around 6:30-7.

“the average American goes to bed at 11:39 p.m”? The “average American” must not include retired folks. We usually go to bed between 8 and 9 but we’ve already been engaged in what we call the “pre-bed nap” which probably begins somewhere around 7 in front of the TV. But, we’re up between 4 and 5,

Maybe if you went to bed a little later, then you would wake up a little later…say around 7. DW and I usually go to bed around 11 – 11:30 and I usually get up around 7…DW around 9. Of course that’s also after we take a pre-bed nap in front of the TV.

Charlie, we go to bed when we do because we’re falling asleep – ha.

Wow- sure seems late! I haven’t done that since back in college when I watched Carson….so it was past 1 on many nights. Anyway, these days it’s a little after 9.

Being retired, my daily routine is usually make supper about 7:00 pm (1900), then a little Tv and a pre-bed nap of about :15 to :30 minutes, then read a Flying or Trains magazine with the Tv on of course. Then Tv until 1:00 – 2:00 am (0100 to 0200) then off to bed getting up about 0830 or 0900. No afternoon naps. I’ve had this routine for many years as my late wife did also so it worked fine for us. (Interestingly, I was born at about 0230 – 0300; connection? Hmmm!)

Thank you, RV Travel! Left to my own devices, invariably after midnight. When appointments, travel, etc., intrude, then I usually go as early as my required awakening time implies to get 7 or 8 hours of sleep. Last week’s visitor had to be at the airport at 3:45 AM, so I did 4 hours before transporting him and another 4 after returning home. Have a great week and safe travels!

Depends on when it gets dark or cold. The dog eats at 5 or 6 a.m. and p.m. Walk the dog before sleeping.
