Do you set an alarm to wake up in the morning?

Do you usually set an alarm on your phone or an alarm clock to wake you up in the morning? If so, do you set one every day or just sometimes? Just for special occasions? Or do you just wake up naturally every day and not need an alarm at all?

Do you wake up naturally while you’re RVing because you’re just so excited to start the day? Do you only need to set an alarm while sleeping at your sticks-and-bricks? Or is it the other way around?

Some folks love their early mornings at the campsite—coffee brewing, birds singing, and the quiet calm before everyone else stirs. Others of you might like to take your time and let the day come to you slowly, without a buzzing phone telling you when to get up.

And let’s be honest, sometimes RV adventures keep you up later than planned—chatting around the campfire, stargazing, or rolling into a new spot late at night. On those mornings, hitting snooze (or not setting an alarm at all) feels pretty great.

In case you need a lot of help getting up in the morning, perhaps this will do

Did that for 48 years. Now, never without really good reason. Ahhh, retirement.

Retired 6 years now. No clock to regulate when to get up, eat, or go to bed. I do use a day of the week clock every so often. I rely more on this newsletter if I happen to look at the date and day of the week.

When you have a dog that needs walked and a cat who needs her morning snack, who needs an alarm? LOL!

Yep, the cats and dog take care of that for me too!

Only on Sunday Mornings in the S&B. Also if we have an early Doctors appointment in Traverse City which is over an hour away from home.

Only on the rare occasions that I have an early appointment.
All other times I’m up about 7am.

Only if we have an early appointment. Otherwise, my bladder is set earlier than I would like, and it’s difficult to change.

At home, we set an alarm on work days, or when we need to be somewhere early on weekends and days off. Camping, we’ll set an alarm on some days, so that my husband can be up and hiking early enough for the length of the trek or to avoid much of the heat. (Often, that alarm is 5 a.m.) If we want to be on the road fairly early, we’ll set an alarm.

If you have 2 dogs that need to go do their business early every morning, you won’t need an alarm clock!!

My dog is my alarm clock. I woke up at 5 am for work, now that I’m retired, I still wake up at 5 am but think “ahh, I can sleep some more, knowing that my dog will wake me up by 7 am for his belly rub and walk”

I set an alarm but only in case I over sleep, 95% of the time I wake before the alarm goes off. Even as a teenager I usually woke well before the alarm went off. The only time I need an alarm for sure is the start of daylight saving time or if I fly to the west coast, I live in Florida and have trouble adjusting to pacific time, about the time I get used to it I’m back in Florida.

The only time I have set an alarm in the past decade was to catch an early flight, say 5:30-7:00 AM. When I book the flight it’s never before a 9 AM departure. I’m retired but I’m up before 7 AM every day.

Only when we need to get up at a set time for appointment, catch plane/train, or gain entry to a federal park.

Never! My current beagles as well as the past have been my alarm clock. 5:30AM is time they are up and ready for outside, has been that way for 45 years. Then I get my morning coffee. Just think cold nose on yours and those long ears resting on your face, can’t help but smile. Best way and only way to get woken up.

Now traveling in the RV, only when I have to go somewhere. At home, I set my alarm for 11:00am, to make sure I’m up before then. My 2 cats, bless them, try to get me up earlier, but are not successful.

Thank you for the question, RV Travel! Yes, I awaken to a set alarm every morning. Usually the time it awakens me is 8:30 AM. Thereby I get a good night’s sleep and awaken early enough to get some work done around the farm. Similarly, when we travel, 8:30 AM local time is the typical alarm. Deviations occur when necessary and always result in an earlier alarm. Have a great day and safe travels!
