On most evenings after a nice dinner, what do you find yourself doing most often? Is an after-dinner walk a part of your nightly routine? Do you usually watch TV or movies at night? Maybe you play a game on your phone or do a physical puzzle at the table? Do you finish up the day’s work? Participate in your favorite hobby? Sit outside around a campfire and chat with your partner?
Evening routines can vary widely depending on where you’re parked, the weather, and your personal habits. Some RVers love unwinding with a peaceful stroll through the campground, soaking in the sights and sounds of nature as the sun sets.
Others prefer the comfort of their RV, catching up on their favorite shows, reading a good book, or even knitting or painting. And for those who work on the road, evenings might be the perfect time to tie up loose ends before shutting down for the night.
Socializing is also a big part of the RV lifestyle, and many travelers make a habit of gathering with friends or neighbors for campfire chats, card games, or happy hour under the awning. Some RVers take this time to plan their next travel stop, researching routes and campground reviews, while others scroll through their phones, catching up with family, checking the news, or playing their favorite game apps.
No matter what your routine looks like, those quiet (or lively!) hours after dinner can be some of the best moments of the day.
In this poll, you can vote twice. So please vote for the two that you most often do. If you answer “Other” please leave a comment. We’re curious! Thanks!

Bicycle ride. Not e-bike. Real riding.
Watch Tv and take dogs out.
Watch the local news and weather and then work/play on computer.
I chose “other” because I normally do outdoor work when the temp drops ….like mowing the lawn, working on the RV or one of our vehicles… or washing one of the previously mentioned.
YOU TUBES!
Take the dogs for a walk.
I Door Dash from 4-9 or 10 pm so I am working during dinner time. Have to pay the bills!
Hubby and I spend time on the computer, catching up on social media and the forums we actively visit.
A nice leisurely walk, weather permitting.
When camping I usually sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet until it becomes too cold or it’s time for bed. At home I watch tv or YouTube videos.
Why I love our RV park. This is a 55+ long-stay park. Multiple evenings a week we socialize, or socialize with games – – cards, pool, something. Almost all of this is informal and just happens.
When we were on the road we’d usually take a walk around the CG. We’re now older and no longer traveling so after the evening meal we head down to the family room to watch TV or stream a movie.
A lot of it depends on the weather and location. If it’s nice (both) we love being outside – walking, sitting, enjoying the area. If it’s not, then inside we go, reading or watching a movie or tv.
I’m usually on the computer watching YouTube videos about cooking, camping, and home theater.
I watch baseball on my iMac desktop…
I walk the dog for awhile then watch some TV then go bed….. Those were the 3 I choose..
Fishing or sit around the campfire.
Go to bed and tell the wife not tonight, I got a headache.
If DH cooked I wash dishes. Otherwise I read, or try to write mail -email +snailmail
Xthr permitting I try to take a walk around the yard. However the back has been giving me some problems recently. So, I go down to family room, turn on the Tv, take a 15-20 min. nap. Watch Tv and play solitaire on my old laptop – then off to bed at about 0100 – 0130 – up at 0830-0900 – do it again! I also sit on the deck after dinner until dark – if it’s warm!
