RV with your dog? Love’s has opened its 400th dog park

We hesitate to suggest it, but travel plaza giant Love’s has gone to the dogs. No, it’s no reflection on the food, the fuel, or the service. But the company recently reported that Love’s has opened its 400th dog park.

More features, more likely you’ll stop by

Love’s knows that the more features it adds to its travel centers, the more likely it is folks will choose to make the outfit their travel choice. So, Love’s began adding dog parks to locations in late 2018.

The fully fenced yards are approximately 50 by 100 feet with turf, grass, and gravel surfaces. They also boast of well-maintained pet waste stations with bags. Many of the parks have separate areas for large- and small-breed dogs.

Love’s opens its 400th dog park—in North Carolina

Love’s dog parks are dotted among 42 U.S. states, giving furry friends a chance to stretch their legs along your journey. Now Love’s has opened it’s 400th dog park—this one in Rural Hall, North Carolina.

While we won’t say this adds a lot of “Wow” to ‘Bow”, it is handy for the barker set when out on the road with the folks. And not to discriminate, some Love’s locations offer cat food and kitty litter. And, yes, dog treats, leashes, and food bowls. Be sure to stop by the register and pay for those on your way out.

The dog parks are open 24 hours per day, seven days a week, so your pet can stretch their legs whenever needed.

Russ and Tiña De Maris
Russ and Tiña went from childhood tent camping to RVing in the 1980s when the ground got too hard. They've been tutored in the ways of RVing (and RV repair) by a series of rigs, from truck campers, to a fifth-wheel, and several travel trailers. In addition to writing scores of articles on RVing topics, they've also taught college classes for folks new to RVing. They authored the book, RV Boondocking Basics.

We stopped and used the dog park at a loves and it was nice … But please pick up your dogs poop.. It’s not their job to pick up after your dog.. It’s your job…..

Thank you, Russ and Tina! 🙂 Interesting, thanks. We usually favor TA or Petro truckstops. We tend to pay lower prices for diesel there than at Loves. We will check out the dog parks if Loves’ prices get better than the alternates. Thanks again, have a great day, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂

I think it’s a great addition for all the dog (and cat) travelers, whether in rv’s or any other type vehicle.

Most of the Love’s dog parks we have visited were OK for a Dachshund but way too small for our big German Shepherds! A nice thought, though.

Love’s should be more friendly toward RV’ers with class A gas MH. They should have RV fueling lanes like a lot of Flying J’s have. Haven’t found 1 Love’s that we can refuel our 34’ MH when towing.
