You should be using broom holders in your RV (and not just for holding brooms!)
By Gail Marsh
Broom hangers help keep brooms and mops tidy, but you might be surprised to learn the following tips and hacks for using broom hangers while RVing. Hint: These tricks have nothing to do with brooms!
Note: Broom hangers come in a variety of styles. Some feature self-adhesive mounting while others require screws to mount. The tips that follow generally suggest the self-stick type of hanger (like these), but heavy items may require a screw mount. It’s important to note the weight capabilities of the broom holder you intend to use. Also, check to see if the self-adhesive holder will adhere to the surface you intend for it.

Can the Vortec engine in the Adventurer we’re looking at handle our mountains?
Dear Dave,
We are looking at a 37-foot Adventurer which has the Vortec 340 HP engine. Is it true that this particular engine was discontinued as it was not enough torque? We live in a mountainous area and this is very important to us. —Tia, 2007 Adventurer

An inflatable RV?! Check out the Flated inflatable truck camper cap
By Cheri Sicard
I have to say that an inflatable truck camper cap was a brand-new concept to me when I happened upon the video below from the team at Live.Life.Simple.
When the video was made, our host had not used this product long as the video covers an unboxing, setup and installation, a durability test, and a road test. Then, after driving with the inflatable truck camper cap installed for about 100 miles, he shares the pros and cons of the experience to that point.

Nudist RV resorts more popular among RVers than you’d think
By Tony Barthel
Would you stay at a clothing-optional or nudist RV resort? That was a question we posed in a poll awhile ago, and a surprising number of you said you would. In fact, based on the comments, a surprising number of people said that they had! This lead to questions by us about the experience and motivation, so we sought out a few people to find the bare facts and get the naked truth about clothing-optional RV resorts. Tony bares all here. (Eek!)

How many years in a row did you work at the same job at the same company?
Quick Tip
Campground etiquette: Tie it down!
Some say, “It’s my site; I’ll do whatever I want with it.” But seriously, this is a safety issue. Stow and secure your gear, especially if you leave for the day or before turning in for the night. Storms can pop up, leaving your gear a windstorm’s craving.
Canopies and camp chairs become projectiles that can damage RVs or hurt fellow RVers. Same bar, different note: No one wants to live next to the site that looks like a Walmart toy aisle at Christmas. Keep your site picked up and tidy… or try to. —From the folks at alwaysonliberty.com.

Casino Camper
Want to stay at a casino in your RV? Some of the perks are wonderful (sometimes free camping, sometimes free food…). This site lists many RV-friendly casinos across the U.S. and in Canada.
And the Survey Says…
We’ve polled RVtravel.com readers more than 2,500 times in recent years. Here are a few things we’ve learned about them:
• 45 percent say the bed in their RV is not the original mattress it came with.
• The majority of voters, 53 percent, go to Amazon first to buy their RV parts and accessories. The next most popular stop is a local RV dealer store.
• 24 percent have ordered take-out delivery to their home or RV within the past month.
Recent poll: Did you stick to your 2023 New Year’s resolution?

Good For You Breakfast Bars
by Jewel Hall from Cullman, AL
Jewel’s breakfast bar recipe is proof that “good for you” can be delicious, too. We would be happy campers if we could have one of these bars and a cup of coffee every morning… Talk about getting the day off on the right foot! They are crunchy, chewy, and sweet with a hint of peanut butter flavor.

Trivia
A typical lightning bolt moves at about 224,000 miles per hour, or about 3,700 miles per second. However, since the light we see from the bolt travels at the speed of light, that translates to about 670 million miles per hour, or about 186,000 miles per second. Whew!
Readers’ Pet of the Day
“Bam Bam is almost 16 years old and is a reluctant traveler. When he’s not napping, he likes to look out the window at the other animals. If he’s feeling brave enough, he will sit on my wife’s lap outside, watching the squirrels and birds go by.” —David Follett
Send us a photo of your pet with a short description. We publish one each weekday in RV Daily Tips and in our Sunday RV Travel newsletter. No blurry photos, please! Please do not submit your photo more than once. Thanks!

If you are in a lightning event and see a flash and hear the bang almost at the same Instant, you are at or very near the strike point. Lightning took out al the electronics in my Class C. Basically, non-repairable. RV will be totalled
I was @ work in a metal building, heard the whistle of the strike, microseconds before the boom! Seemed like building and I shook, I’ve actually experienced this twice in the 20yrs @ same work building. No damage.
I enjoyed today’s Leave Here With a Laugh, but it wasn’t at a hotel. It was on a cruise ship and judging from the reading material, Royal Caribbean.
Great observation.
Thank you, Emily and Diane! 🙂
I for one would love to go back to 1974 and 55 mph. To save gas we slowed things down. Today on Interstate 10 if you aren’t going 85 they’ll drive you off the road. If I remember right they killed 470 people in Az the last quarter. Im capable of fast driving but dont care to do it
