Counter space galore plus good seating in the 2025 Jayco Eagle HT 27MLC

By Tony Barthel
Today’s RV review is of the new-for-2025 Jayco Eagle HT 27MLC fifth wheel. This is a new floor plan for the Eagle line at Jayco and one that might serve you well if you like entertaining in your fifth wheel or just appreciate a lot of kitchen counter space. …

Overall, this is a floor plan that I think is an outstanding offering for those who like to entertain or just prepare meals. Combining a good design with some really noteworthy new features for 2025 and you have a home run, in my opinion.

Why is there no industry-wide RV quality control?

By Dave Solberg
Dear Dave,
It seems there are few codes or quality standards that are in place within the RV industry. The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) has a few loosely worded codes, and the quarterly inspections are a joke. How can that be, and why doesn’t the government step in and regulate quality? —From many RV owners

The single most valuable tool to an RV technician

Today I’m showing you a tool in every RV technician’s toolbox—a plastic scraper! It’s used for so many RV repairs, including everything from decal removal, RV roof sealant removal, RV body silicone removal, to pop an RV molding, to install and remove RV insert moldings, and much more.

Letter to the Editor: RV parks and campgrounds are NOT the same!

This week’s Letter to the Editor came in from Gary, who writes, “In an article about campground rules, Nanci uses ‘campground’ and ‘RV park’ interchangeably. …” When we read Gary’s message at a recent staff and writers’ meeting, we found ourselves in the middle of a lengthy conversation. Some of our staff said, “Yes! Campgrounds and RV parks ARE the same!” while others said, “No, they’re different!” Click here to read.

Quick tip
Easy and fun window coverings for privacy

Hate the curtains on some of your windows—like the one in the bathroom or the “relite” in the entry door? Ditch the curtains and simply pick up a chunk of privacy screen contact paper window film. Cut it to size, pull off the backing sheet, and carefully apply to a clean window. Or go wild and try the “stained glass” versions. Many internet sites carry the stuff, and there are hundreds to choose from on Amazon.

Oven Omelet

by Gayle Kennedy from Portland, OR

Tasty and super easy, this baked omelet is quite good. Once baked, it’s thick, fluffy, and full of flavor. There’s plenty of bacon and gooey cheese to make this super satisfying. It’s rather large and would be great to whip up for a holiday breakfast or brunch. (You could also cut the recipe in half for a smaller portion.) Click here for the recipe.

Trivia

Beer is the most popular alcoholic beverage worldwide. In fact, after water and tea, beer is the most commonly consumed drink in the world. Beer is also most likely the oldest alcoholic drink in history.

Old habits die hard, or in my case, hardly die at all. Thanks for bringing back the ability to close an article by clicking on the tab and not having to use the back button. Such a simple thing but it made my day! 🙂

We’re so sorry for your loss Bev. We too lost our Springer, “Sunny Girl” a few years ago at 15 years old. She was the light of our camping trips. Maybe they crossed over that bridge together.
