Prototype Riverside RV Retro is a cabover bunk throwback
By Tony Barthel
Today’s RV (p)review is of an unnamed member of the Riverside RV Retro family. Riverside RV is a small, independent manufacturer of RVs that has the Retro, Intrepid and Explorer series. The model shown was something before even a prototype. The company was experimenting with what they could do and came up with this very unusual floor plan. The thing is, this floor plan isn’t as unusual as you might think. Continue reading.

My RV’s auto-level system doesn’t work. How do I recalibrate it?
Dear Dave,
My motorhome has an auto-level system. It always leaves the front end too low and I end up having to adjust it myself. How do you recalibrate the system so it truly does self-adjust? —Sam, 2020 Jayco Precept 31UL Read Dave’s answer.

What to know about RV floor replacement
By Dustin Simpson
Whether your RV floor has a leak or a stain, or you simply want to update the look of your unit, replacing your flooring can be a costly option. Our shop does RV floor replacement, but 95 percent of the time it’s because a catastrophic event occurred and insurance is footing the bill.
This is also my warning for consumers who are shopping for a used unit. RV floor replacement isn’t that simple or cost-effective! Make sure you watch the video and read my article.

Research mobile techs carefully. We didn’t, and we paid the price
By Nanci Dixon
For the most part, we have had amazing luck with mobile techs. So good, as a matter of fact, that we became a little too careless and trusting. My husband had bought a Roadmaster tow and brake system from a neighbor. … We called all the shops around the Phoenix area [to install the system] and they were all booked up for months. We found a mobile tech that was 1/4 the price and available the following week. That should have sounded the alarm!! Ya think?? Continue reading.

Quick tip
Furnace won’t start? Here’s what to check
If your factory furnace won’t start, go outside and take the cover off the intake/exhaust port. Now clean any crud out of the two tubes you’ll see. Try a restart. Still no go? Fire up your motorhome engine (or your tow vehicle while hooked up to your trailer) and try it again. If it starts now, there’s a low-voltage issue in your coach—check the “house batteries” first. If the furnace still won’t start with the engine running, you likely have a furnace problem requiring a technician’s attention.

Trivia
When you’re on a hiking trail you’ve probably noticed small markers telling you you’re on the right path. Usually they’re found bolted to a tree. Those are called “blazes.” Trailblazing used to be a real occupation, where trailblazers would go out and hike routes across unexplored terrain setting “blazes” to mark their path.

Abby – you got a lot of fun travel and good times with your people in your future! Don
The Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village has to rank near the top of the coolest. I’ve been 3 times and I’d go again if in the area. They have so many different things/displays. Huge building and everything on display is in as good a condition as they could restore it. Plus you can take the Ford F-150 Factory tour watching the assembly line.
I agree. We spent almost 3 days touring the museum, Greenfield Village, the F-150 plant and also the Model T Piquette plant.
Another cool museum is the Match Stick Marvels museum located in Gladbrook, IA.
Now the drop down ads are blocking the main page! I had to exit several times, jump back in and scroll quickly just to read the headlines before the page was completely blocked. No articles today…those ads are way too much of a pain. Cadillac, GMC, Chevy… they take up the whole page and won’t allow you to clear them out. Is anyone else experiencing this?!?
Is anyone else seeing this? This should not be happening. — Chuck/publisher
Sounds like it’s your browser. I’m using Firefox and there are no drop down ads.
Using Safari, no problems. In the South Pacific, at sea.
Ditto on using Firefox and not seeing drop down ads. I am on a laptop and not on a phone.
Using Safari in the Pacific NW and not having the issue.
I responded yesterday or before in response to the same question. I did not have the problem on the RVT site but did have the problem on other sites. I have my now hated Chrome as a browser.
I have recently started getting Temu ads that cover about 2/3 of the page but only when reading RV Travel. It does not pop up on any other websites. I have to use my VPN to read the articles. But when the VPN is on I cant post any comments.
Susan, your dog is beautiful. I had a dead grass colored Chessie many years ago- he was a great dog.
I had never heard of that particular color before, Drew.🤣 But it was easy to envision, probably because of having lots of it over the years.🫤 Have a great day. 😀 –Diane at RVtravel.com
The museum piece left off the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix.
Thank you, Emily and Diane! 🙂 Abby looks like a great traveling companion, Susan! I hope you have many adventures together in the coming weeks, months, and years! 🙂 Have a great week and safe travels! 🙂
