Sikaflex-221 — the workhorse of RV sealants

Sikaflex sealant

By Bob Difley

Sealants should be a part of every RVer’s toolbox. With the beating an RV takes, especially now with America’s roads needing major repairs and pothole fixing, at some point you are going to need to reseal around a vent or a window frame to prevent leaks.

Sikaflex-221 is the most well-known brand of one component polyurethane sealant/adhesive in the world — a product workhorse. This fast-curing product provides permanent elastic adhesion to a number of surfaces with excellent cut and tear resistance.

It is considered by many to be the ultimate choice in truck, trailer, RV and bus manufacturing. Designed to resist the shock and abuse encountered over countless road miles, Sikaflex-221 will maintain its strength and adhesion over the long haul. Sikaflex-221 is weather resistant, sandable, paintable and NSF-approved for potable water and incidental food contact.
