Tony Barthel compared the 2021 model of the Thor Vegas Class A motorhome to a bread truck. That practical curved front design still holds true in the 2024 Thor Vegas.
If you are looking for a small gas-powered Class A motorhome, check it out in the tour below with Matt and Andrea of Matt’s RV Reviews, one of the winners of a 2024 RV Travel RV Video award.
Matt says it’s the smallest Class A motorhome on the market because it is actually built on a Class C chassis. This makes it perfect for state and national parks that are not always big-rig friendly.
I love the light, airy, open interior of this motorhome. Even with the slide in there is plenty of room to navigate to everything.
I like the versatility of having an optional pedestal table between the driver and passenger seats. An additional pedestal table can be set up in front of the sofa, as there is no dinette. The sofa does convert into additional sleep space.
And I especially LOVE the rear bedroom floor plan with the split bathroom in the middle: shower on one side and toilet and sink on the other.
The large shower is big enough and tall enough to comfortably fit Matt—and he is a big guy! The toilet and sink side also features a large medicine cabinet and lots of storage cabinets.
The spacious bedroom features a queen-sized north/south bed that you can easily walk around. Hanging wardrobe closets and drawers flank the bed. Even more storage hides in drawers underneath.
The kitchen has a large Contour compressor refrigerator, Contour convection-microwave, 2-burner Dometic cooktop, a single large sink, and a nice amount of counter space.

What’s not to like?
The kitchen lacks significant pantry space, so you may be crowding this to fit all your food in.
This is nitpicking, but, while the driver’s seat is power-adjusted, the passenger seat is manual.
The over-cab bunk holds 250 pounds, plenty for most single adults but possibly not two large adults.
As large as the shower was, the toilet was a little tight for a big guy like Matt. Not unworkable, but certainly not spacious. He and Andrea also did not like the step up into the shower or the shower curtain.
Matt also did not like that all the exterior hookups are outside as opposed to in an enclosed bay. And he expressed a desire for a slightly longer sofa. Although, to be fair, I am not sure where they would have put this.

That 3.0L V-8 is more likely a Ford twin-turbo 3.0L Ecoboost V-6. Looks like a great floor plan, especially with the split bath, the kitchen countertop extension, and the sofa in place of a dinette. But only if it comes with an 80″ long queen bed! I refuse to ever sleep in a too short, 74″ bed again, with my cold feet hanging over the end because I need a pillow to sleep. Pillows on a 74″ bed make it impossible for anyone over 6′ tall to sleep comfortably, and a LOT of RVers are over 6′.
Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 This certainly has lots to recommend it, especially for a family on a two-week vacation to three or four national parks. Thor’s reputation for less-than-stellar quality control would be my only reservation. Thanks again, Cheri, and safe travels! 🙂
I share the opinion of a lot of rvers. I won’t buy anything made by Thor. Too many complaints for me.
I would ask to test drive this bread truck on a highway before making a purchase decision. We had one of the writers for RVTravel who hated the handling so much on their Ford-based motorhome that they ultimately sold it after a relatively short ownership period.
These are pretty and all but if I won one in a lottery drawing, it’d be on eBay the next day.
The Vegas 24.1 is smaller and as far as I know the actual smallest class A. It is 18 inches shorter than the 26.1. The 24.1 has a different bed setup and a different shower and bath, but the front is all the same. It drives well and has plenty of power with the Godzilla V8.
