A look at Airstream’s Rangeline Class B motorhome on a Promaster 3500 chassis

By Cheri Sicard
The Airstream Rangeline Base brings muscle and elegance together in a compact Class B motorhome built on the Ram ProMaster 3500 chassis.

In the video at the end of this post, Laura, known as That RV Girl, shares her excitement for this model, calling out her personal love for Ram vehicles. (I love them too, Laura; Rams have always been good to me.) She finds the Rangeline welcoming and packed with features that stand out for both new and seasoned travelers.

Twin bed layout

At just under 21-feet long and about 9-and-a-half-feet tall (including the A/C), this van keeps travel simple and carefree.

  • Length: 20 feet, 11 inches
  • Height: 9 feet, 5 inches (with A/C)
  • Width: 8 feet, 2.25 inches

Parking in city spots and venturing off the beaten path are simple thanks to this compact size. It’s almost small enough for drive-thrus and definitely easy enough for tight campsites.

The Rangeline Base offers intuitive utility connections and features made for life on the road

  • Fuel fill located on the driver’s side
  • Black and gray tank valves for easy dumping
  • Smart plug shore power (push in and click, no awkward twisting)
  • Tank capacities: 28 gallons fresh, 19 gallons gray, 12 gallons waste
  • 7-pin plug and 3,500 lb. tow capacity at the rear
  • Integrated backup camera feeds both the rearview mirror and the dash screen

The rear doors reveal MOLLE panels perfect for storing gear and essentials. Under the foldable bed, a deep storage bay with L-bracket tie-downs makes it easy to haul bikes, kayaks, or pet crates. A battery disconnect and a standard outlet are tucked away in the back. This layout really works for solo travelers, couples, small families, and anyone traveling with pets.

A zippered roll-down screen door at the rear means both doors can stay open for a breeze.

Laura jokes, “Let in the fresh air, keep out the bugs that want to set up camp!” This simple, thoughtful touch keeps everyone comfortable.

The Airstream Rangeline Base packs real energy independence

  • 200W solar panel system on the roof
  • 3.4kW lithium coach batteries with built-in heater
  • 2.8kW ultra-quiet generator with remote start
  • Easy-to-use multiplex control system for tanks and batteries

For a technical deep dive, the Airstream Rangeline specifications page lays out full details.

Airstream boosts the outdoor experience

  • Manual crank awning (stows securely, easy to set up)
  • JBL Bluetooth speaker (mounts inside or out)
  • Pet leash holder/bottle opener built into the running board

The Ram ProMaster 3500 chassis and 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine power this van confidently.

Technology and comfort come together with these highlights

  • Android Auto with a 10.1-inch touchscreen and Uconnect 5 NAV
  • Rearview camera in both mirror and dash display
  • USB/USBC ports, wireless charging, and standard outlet
  • Six-way adjustable front seats
  • Two extra passenger seats behind the driver and front passenger

The main cabin includes a removable and swiveling table that serves as a workspace, dining area, or play table. Multiple USB and standard outlets sit under the seats so everyone stays powered up. Matte finish laminate cabinets with soft lining and locking hardware keep items quiet and secure, while an overhead Maxxair fan freshens the air.

Galley features

  • 1000W induction cooktop (indoor and outdoor use)
  • Stowaway power tower for devices
  • Movable JBL speaker and under-cab lighting
  • Stainless steel sink with cutting board cover and high-rise faucet
  • Ample drawer storage (soft close, with lock, includes hidden garbage can)
  • All-electric fridge with icebox and writable front
  • Built-in pet water bowls in a lower drawer (fully removable)

Climate control gets special attention

  • 13.5K BTU soft start air conditioner
  • Timberline gas-fired hydronic furnace and hot water

Travelers stay comfortable and relaxed whether it’s hot summer or chilly winter outside.

The rear bedroom blends comfort with clever storage

  • Full-size bed with European suspension, accessible via a pull-out drawer step
  • Foldable mattress reveals a long floor-to-ceiling storage alley for gear
  • Overhead cabinets (soft-lined, locking)
  • Netted screens and wireless chargers for electronics
  • Available pop-top option adds space for two more to sleep
  • The bed area adapts quickly to make room for adventure gear as needed.

Practical and clean, the wet bath gives true self-sufficiency

  • Dometic foot-flush toilet
  • Pull-down sink for washing up
  • Oversized shower head with hot and cold control
  • Foldout mirror and interior lighting
  • Tambourine-style door that tucks away during travel

The Rangeline Base blends luxury, muscle, and smart design on the reliable Ram chassis.

Thank you for noting and summarizing the video, Cheri! Well, she certainly presents well. Not exactly my style or preference, but if I had loads more money, then I’d buy this for one- or two-day road trips. Would be nice to get 3 or 4 friends and drive a few hours to watch a cross-country meet. Would be great, in bad weather especially, to change out of wet stuff into warm, dry clothes for the drive home. Have a great day and safe travels!

Are you afraid to give a price you have it that high that you’re embarrassed
