Here’s what’s new in RV upgrades

Turbro Inverter A/C

Traditional RV air conditioning units can be a pain. They often need a soft start device and can be power-hungry. Enter the Turbro Inverter A/C unit. Think of it as a mini-split system packed into an RV A/C. This unit offers several key features:

• Mini-split design

• Competition to the Furrion Chill Cube (though slightly smaller at 13,500 BTU, compared to the Furrion’s 18,000 BTU)

• No soft start device needed

• Low amp draw on startup

• Efficient heating and cooling

• Wi-Fi connectivity

• Available in 13,500 BTU with inverter compressor

• A 15,000 BTU unit is available, but without the inverter compressor

Jared was impressed by its performance, especially the low amp draw during startup, plus, with Wi-Fi connectivity, you can control the A/C remotely.

eTrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar

Hitch rattle can be a real annoyance. That constant clanging and banging can drive you crazy on long trips. It’s not just annoying; it can also cause problems. All that movement can put stress on cargo carriers and bike racks, potentially damaging your RV.

The eTrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar is a simple solution. It’s a sleek, easy-to-use device that eliminates hitch rattle. Once installed, it stays on the hitch receiver, so you don’t have to mess with it every time you hook up. Just tighten the knob, and the rattle is gone. The collar mounts to the receiver with screws. Tightening the knob eliminates movement. No tools are needed for adjustment once it’s installed.

Retractable Ratchet Straps

A Simple Time Saver: How much time have you wasted messing with extra strap length? Retractable ratchet straps are quicker and easier to use than traditional straps and there’s no extra strap to tuck away.

Wolfbox G900 Pro dash cam

Most dash cameras have similar image quality. It can be tough to read license plates in the footage. Plus, a dashboard cluttered with monitors is distracting and unsafe. The Wolfbox G900 Pro dash cam has a built-in monitor that replaces the rearview mirror. The front-facing camera offers higher quality video, and the rear view is wider than traditional mirrors.

Toothbrush holder

This upgrade is simple but useful. Electric toothbrushes can easily tip over. Jared made this 3D-printed toothbrush holder which mounts with Command strips, so it won’t damage the RV walls and securely holds those electric toothbrushes. (The link is to a similar wall-mounted toothbrush holder.)

Victron Android Takeover

The Victron Android Takeover feature turns an inexpensive Android device into a dedicated display for the Victron Cerbo GX. This provides information on solar and inverter systems and allows control of inverter settings. This is a direct connection, not just remote login. The Android device needs to be Android 6 or newer. It may not work on Fire tablets.

Thanks Cheri. It is a good article. I already have the anti-hitch rattle, but I like the retracting straps and the rear view dash cam. I’ll be looking into getting both of those.

Good stuff in this article, but I have to say that Harbor Freight has an anti-hitch rattle for about $12.00 that I have been using for years.
