Here’s how to make boondocking fun for the partner who hates it
By Nanci Dixon
I love boondocking, everything about it: the challenge, the isolation, ruggedness, sense of self-sufficiency… but my husband hates it. We are currently in a regional park with 50-amp electric hookups, amazing showers, and dishwashing stations. His comment: “I hate boondocking.” I wanted to respond: “Just wait until we get to the Harvest Hosts free-range pig farm next week…” —but I refrained.
My goal is now to make it as painless as possible for him and happy for me. Here are a few steps that may seem counter to true boondocking but are a good way to ease into hard-core boondocking, or at least keep the family happy. Continue reading.

The most disgusting RV mistake you never want to make!
By Cheri Sicard
In the video below, Izzy from Endless RVing (one of the winners of our 2024 RV video awards) shares a cautionary tale about a huge RV mistake that is easy to make, especially if you are a beginner. Heck, Izzy is NOT a beginner, and he still made this significant RV error. This RV mistake is thoroughly disgusting, and once you make it I guarantee you will never, ever do it again! Check this out.

A simple reminder which just may save your RV roof
Don’t bang your [RV’s] head: Make an easy-to-read note and put it on your dashboard or sun visor showing your RV height in feet and inches—and in metric, too, if you travel out of the country. It could save your TV antenna, air conditioner—even your roof. Thanks to George Bliss for the tip.

And the survey says…
We’ve polled RVtravel.com readers more than 2,500 times in recent years. Here are a few things we’ve learned about them:
• When asked if social media has been a blessing or a curse to society, 85 percent answered “curse.”
• 56 percent would rather sleep in the dark than with a nightlight or other light source.
• 28 percent do not drink alcoholic beverages. For those that do, the highest percentage, 28 percent, say beer is their alcoholic beverage of choice, followed by wine then hard liquor.

Ad on unsold RAM under 10K is very deceiving. Same goes for cars for seniors. Do you not check the ads you have or is it about the almighty dollar?
Gil, take it easy on RVTravel. Ads you see may not be theirs. Google and others insert their ads and RVTravel doesn’t have anything to do with them.
You are right that those deceptive ads are for the almighty $ though, but it’s not a dollar going to RVTravel.
Side note: Use the Duck Duck Go browser and you won’t even see them.
Thank you for the tip on DDG browser! Much better!
Spot on Mikal. I don’t see an ad for a Ram but rather, I see one for RV Roof Magic because I’m sure there’s a cookie that thinks my fiberglass roof needs a TPO or EPDM coating….LOL
Gotta love targeted Google advertising and all its nuances.
Gil – You can buy a Ram with a salvage title for $10K in certain regions after the waters recede from a hurricane…..
Brave browser works better..and doesn’t track you near as bad.
10K is more than I would pay for any ram.
I always thought it took 3 gallons of whole milk to make a gallon of ice cream. Milk is 3% butterfat, ice cream is 15% butterfat, so I would think it would take 5 gallons of milk. I know, shut up and eat it. Just sayin
I agree. 12 gallons seemed like an awful lot to me. I googled it and several sites said 3 gallons. I also question that only 4.9% have ice cream in their freezer. I would believe 49%.
Product of the day: Our barn is full of dozens of sparrows making a huge mess. One day there was a mass exodus. A small hawk had come in and was licking his lips. So – maybe a fake eagle would scare off the sparrows? Or it might just spook the chickens.
Mystery product – I think the skunk would be the most handy. Might keep people from taking a shortcut through your campsite!
Tuxedoooo is a beautiful dog! I bet a wonderful companion.
Youtuber RVmiles had a video yesterday about changes BLM is currently working on for pricing of stays at Quartzsite LTVA’s and Imperial dam near Yuma. The increase is significant.
Thank you, Emily and Diane! 🙂 Wow! Tuxedoooo is a really big boy, Mary Rita! 🤔😯 Have a wonderful time traveling with him! 🙂 Given the speed by which many drivers passing me seem to be moving, that sort of loop might be practical for them. I’d just fall off. 🤔😯 🙁 Thanks again, have a great day, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂
I miss Soupy Sales.
