Don’t use a jack to change your tire; do this instead
By George Bliss (Thank you, George!)
If you have a double- or triple-axle trailer, use blocks when a tire change is required. Blocking under a good tire will lift the bad tire off the ground. You’ll no longer need to search for the elusive jack or need to worry about your jack failing or falling over when the trailer is lifted. This works extremely well if you are stopped on ground that might be a little soft. Continue reading.

RV expert names top 10 travel trailers for 2025
Every year, RVers wait for Josh the RV Nerd’s list of favorite travel trailers, and in 2025, the lineup is larger than ever. Instead of picking just five trailers, as he normally does, this year Josh couldn’t manage to limit his selection to so few, so he named 10. Here they are, plus a video.

Classic rock and rediscovered youth at the casino campground
By Nanci Dixon
It is time to seize the night while we still can! We are camping at Dakotah Meadows RV Park at Mystic Lakes Casino in Minnesota. As I was setting up the RV and chatting with our new neighbor, he mentioned that they were there to go to The Marshall Tucker Band 51st and the Jefferson Starship 50th anniversary concert tour at the casino. Really? I loved those groups! And we are right here! If they have tickets left, I could go! Read more.

Create extra storage with this stuffable pillow—fits clothes, bedding, towels, more!
This is one of those brilliant camping items every RVer should have. This pillowcase was designed to be stuffed with stuff! Stuff it with clothes (think winter jackets, holiday clothes, extra layers, etc.), extra bed sheets or pillowcases, extra towels… anything! Give yourself more closet space and storage space and keep your extra things hidden in plain sight. Keep it on your bed, couch, or chair, and nobody will ever know! Check it out.
Quick tip
RV parking restrictions in front of your house?
Some that live in Home Owner Association areas, or in towns with parking restrictions, feel they’ve hit a brick wall when they need to do a repair or maintenance job on their RV. If you’re limited to a 24-hour restriction, it’ll really cramp your style. One RVer says when he has a longer-than-a-day job to do, he simply approaches his neighbors in advance, spells out the problem he’s having, and gives an estimate as to how long he’ll need to get the job done, promising to “vamoose” as soon as possible. He says it’s worked every time—no complaints, no problems.

And the survey says…
We’ve polled RVtravel.com readers close to 5,000 times in recent years. Here are a few things we’ve learned about them:
• 69 percent say they are living with chronic pain. Of that 69 percent, 54 percent live with it okay, but for 15 percent it dictates how they live.
• 67 percent own an SUV (not a truck!).
• 59 percent say they have earned more than $100,000 in a single year.

Trivia
The first European travelers in a hot air balloon were a sheep, a duck and a rooster. Joseph and Jacques Montgolfier, the French brothers who invented the hot air balloon, made this first successful launch and eight-minute flight in 1783 in the presence of King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette. All three animals survived.

A pregnant RVer named Sally survived a terrible traffic accident. When she awoke from a coma she was no longer pregnant. She asked her doctor “What happened?” He replied, “Sally, you had twins, a boy and a girl. Your brother named them for you.” “Oh, no!” she shrieked! His elevator doesn’t go to the top floor, if you know what I mean!” The doctor replied, “Well, Sally, he named your daughter Denise.” “Oh, that’s not so bad,” she replied. Then she asked, “What’s the boy’s name?” “Denephew,” he said.

In an HOA with lots of boats stored in driveways and other places. There are no RV restrictions. However, it would be a real challenge to bring a Class A into the subdivision.
Roads are narrow and the turns are a might difficult.
I don’t know who on your staff found this pillow at Amazon but it’s a brilliant idea. With weather changing while we travel, it’s a great place to store sweaters, long sleeve shirts, etc and the like! And it can just be thrown on our bed! Thank you!
How can you resist those eyes on Squirty? What a lovely looking dog.
Squirty – congratulations on your upcoming adventures! You look like the perfect traveling companion. Make great memories. Don
We offered a spot with Boondockers Welcome for years until reported to the city by a neighbor. The city has no overnight occupied parking allowed which I consider extreme. I believe they should allow 1,2, or even 3 nights as long as they park in front of your house with your permission. In that case there are no “injured parties.”
I think life was better back when MYOB was more common than HOA (or in this case, an intrusive zoning regulation.)
We have a neighbor 2 doors away who will say it’s ok, then calls the city as soon as you park your rig.
Obviously — “Squirty” is a SWEETHEART. What a precious one.
Great picture, C.W.! I hope that you and Squirty have many great adventures together. Thank you, Emily and Diane! Have a great day and safe travels!
Happy travels to you and Squirty, C.W.!
