In the video below we join Steve from Thor Motorcoach for a tour of the 2023 Thor Scope 18G, a small, budget-friendly (relative to others in its class), Class B camper van.
This camper van is small enough to be your around-town vehicle as it fits in any parking space. Nonetheless, it packs in all the comforts of home for when you want to take off on a trip, or even have a comfortable ride for day trips and activities.
The kitchen area features a microwave oven, 12-volt refrigerator, 2-burner propane cooktop, and sink.
The practical layout places a pedestal table between two sofas. The table is simple to remove, and the sofas come together to make a large sleeping space.
If you need more sleep space, you can get the Scope with the optional “sky bunk” popup room. With this option, the rooftop A/C is replaced with a window model.
The wet bath takes up the back of the van with a 4.75-gallon cassette toilet, shower, fold-down sink, medicine cabinet, large wardrobe closet, and two large storage drawers.

What’s not to like?
More counter space would be nice, but that’s the nature of the beast in a camper this small.
Aside from that, outside of the ubiquitous 6-figure price tag that seems to come with all Class B’s, I like this one a lot and don’t have a lot of complaints. Although I am confident our readers will come up with some, so be sure to leave yours in the comments.

Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 Well, first off, it is a Thor. 🙁 It did seem appropriate that it is the model from 2 years ago that he was “showing off” a year ago (per YouTube). 🙂 But, he did a great job of presenting it, most of the time. The bit at the end about taking his daughter and a friend to a concert and him enjoying the van while they were inside was a very reasonable, helpful suggestion of one of the many uses of the rig. He did seem to say to just dump the gray water wherever one might be, but, perhaps I exaggerate. I wonder how many days, weeks, or months buyers get the subscriptions he mentioned — Uconnect, SiriusXM — before they have to renew on their dime?
I finally understand the sky bunk (?) after seeing it here. Seems nice, depending on how well the alternate AC unit works from a cabinet, wherever that is. I can’t imagine camping being stealthy with the roof extended to use the sky bunk. 🤔 All in all, if the manufacturer name could be excised, then I can see this being a good rig for some.
