A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

If the trailer frame and brackets are subpar, the thicker shackles wont matter.

Actually, stronger shackles could transfer the stress and destroy the frame.

Shackles are cheap to replace – the frame is not.

I installed confront ride suspension on my. Fifth wheel with slipper springs only 2 shackle bolts per side less moving parts less problems.

All metals have differing strength capabilities. How come this is not discussed.
