In the video directly below, Bob and Karri from Life Redesigned tell a tale of an unusual knock they got on their RV door. Because the topic of this article includes RV swingers, they warn that it is for mature audiences only. But it will humorously explain how colored loofah sponges, flamingos, and pineapples relate to “swinging.”
The couple likes to keep a low profile when RVing. They say they are loners and like to stick to themselves. They don’t advertise their YouTube channel on their RV.
Nonetheless, in their RV travels they had heard vague rumors about upside-down pineapples and flamingos. But they had never had a personal experience until the tale in the video happened.
One evening a neighbor knocked on the door and invited Bob over for drinks later. He tried to be polite and said he was working, but maybe they would try to stop by later. The neighbor then made a point of telling Bob to be sure to bring his wife!
He thought it an odd way to end the conversation, but then the neighbor seemed a bit odd, including all the colored loofah sponges hanging from his golf cart.
When their adult kids called later, Bob and Karri related the unusual conversation. The kids replied: “You guys don’t get out much. You might want to Google ‘colored loofahs’ and what they mean.”
If you don’t want to Google it, Bob translates it all in the video, according to the New York Post.
In essence, the different colors are shorthand for preferred swinger experiences. Apparently, the loofahs are a bigger trend in some areas of the country than others, but the Post article did mention they are especially popular at The Villages senior housing mecca in Florida!
Prior to learning this new knowledge, Bob and Karri wondered how their neighbor always stayed so clean when he never took his scrubbie in the shower with him!
Now you know.

Interesting video. I watched it on YouTube so I could see the comments over there. Whodda thunk? Thanks Cheri, for always keeping us on the cutting edge.
Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 I guess I get out about as rarely as Bob and Carrie. I had to do a search to see what a loofah is. They did a nice job with the video. It certainly was “educational,” and maybe we’ll steer clear of The Villages. 😉 Meanwhile, thanks again and safe travels! 🙂
At one time (and maybe still) The Villages in FL had the dubious distinction as the STD capital of the US, with the highest per-capita rate of STDs. I guess some seniors do “get around”.
Once while traveling we stopped at a campground to rent a “sight” for the evening. And Boy did we get one! Upon entry we were met by a senior couple in a golf cart, naked as Jaybirds! We immediately turned around, got a refund, and left.
There were no questions asked when requesting our refund, but you’d think they would have mentioned it was a “privates” campground, BEFORE renting us a spot.
I’ve often wondered if they thought we looked like swingers? We were a lot younger then.
In The Villages, and others like them, the female-to-male population is about 10 to 1. So the guys are all packing Viagra and are known as “Condo Cowboys.” My wife used to work at a retirement center and one of the doctors told them about that.
That’s crazy. I had no idea. Whatever trips your trigger, I guess. Thanks for the heads up.
