How to make a travel scrapbook and preserve your RV memories

By Cheri Sicard
The memories you and your family make while RVing can undoubtedly last a lifetime. What better way to preserve those memories than by creating a travel scrapbook of your adventures? It’s a fun activity that leaves you with a priceless personal family souvenir.

In the video below, Grace of Grace on Tour shares her methods for creating a beautiful travel scrapbook.

While Grace is a traveler but not an RVer, her travel scrapbook designs and ideas should translate well, regardless of what type of travel you do.

I like that her method does not require you to invest in a ton of paper crafting and scrapbook supplies, but it still leaves you with a nice finished product.

This is a fun project for a single person or the entire family to work on. Grace talks about how she gathers souvenirs to put in her travel scrapbooks as she travels. Then it’s a matter of printing photos and assembling.

What you will need to create a travel scrapbook

  • A blank book
  • A thick black marker
  • A normal pen
  • Scissors
  • Grace uses tape to attach photos to the pages; I would invest in an acid-free glue stick like this one instead, as it will protect your pages and photos.
  • Travel photos
  • Tickets, receipts, or other such personal travel ephemera. You might even include map snippets of places you have traveled or of the routes you take.
  • Stickers: While Grace is using international travel stickers, you can pick up some camping or RV stickers like the ones on this page.
  • Grace also uses local currencies in her travel scrapbooks, which is an excellent idea if you RV outside the U.S. An alternative for RVers might be the pressed penny souvenirs you see at so many state and national parks and tourist attractions.

Watch the video for more tips about how Grace personalizes each page by destination in her travel scrapbook.

Adapt the basic ideas for how you and your family travel and have some fun putting together your own unique memory books.

Thanks Cheri,
In my travel scrap book I also track the mileage on the trailer and the best camp sites I’d like to book when I return.

Thank you, Cheri! 🙂 Great idea, but my excuse is that we travel too much to make them. In reality, the reason is that I’m too lazy. 🤔😯 For example, I have at least two books set up to record RV travels, but I haven’t written the first word. 🤔😯 DW much better in this regard. She buys books with her pictures that she designs on-line. She keeps one and gives one to one of her two or three traveling buddies, whoever accompanied her. Thanks again, have a great day, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂
