Looking forward to seeing some of Yosemite National Park’s natural attractions? Yosemite Falls big water drop? The Tunnel Tree in Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias? If you’re planning on staying in the RV in Yosemite, your plans may be on hold. The Park Service, which normally would be accepting camping reservations for mid-June to mid-July stays, says it’s delaying the process. Yosemite campground reservations, or the lack thereof, may have a big impact on the RVing community.

Campground reservations from June 15 to July 14 are not being accepted for these Yosemite campgrounds:
- Upper Pines
- Lower Pines
- North Pines
- Wawona
- Hodgdon Meadow
Specter of things to come across the nation?
The Service gave no reason for the hang-up, but in a Facebook post wrote, “We understand the impact this has on visitors who are planning camping trips to the park. We are grateful for your patience. Our goal is to release these campground nights as soon as possible and we will provide at least a seven-day advance notice before reservations go on sale.”
We’re not entirely sure what’s behind the delay in releasing those reservation dates, but here’s the kicker. This news drops just as park workers are gearing up for Yosemite’s first summer without a big chunk of the seasonal and short-term staff that usually help keep everything running during peak season. Like other national parks, Yosemite’s campgrounds depend heavily on seasonal hires, especially when it comes to maintenance and collecting fees. Without them, it’s going to be a tough road ahead.
Could this be a specter of things to come to your favorite national park? As thousands of firings added to a federal hiring freeze affect all public lands agencies, this may be a difficult summer for RVers. Only time will tell.

WAIT, i thought theses were are parks? People its time to speak up about this. Its really sad for all the people that want to work and cant!!

Yes they do! Thank goodness someone say “enough is enough” and start disclosing all the waste and fraud. Just think how far the 2 billion Stacey Abrams got to give away to her friends would have gone helping the National Parks and Campgrounds, and to think that is just the tip of the iceberg.
