Entertainer Post Malone is a multi-genre American musician and producer who broke into the national music scene in 2015. He has since become well-known in pop, hip-hop, country and rock circles.
Newest purchase
He recently took delivery of an EarthRoamer® XV-HD, a top-end expedition RV reported to carry a roughly $1.5 million price tag. It’s one of about 500 Expedition RVs on the road. The vehicles, sort of a truck camper-motorhome hybrid, are known for high quality construction and creature comforts, with price tags to match.
The photo below show Malone picking the rig up at EarthRoamer’s facility in Colorado.

Headline specs
The EarthRoamer XV-HD is a purpose-built expedition camper constructed on a Ford F-750 truck chassis, designed for off-road, off-grid travel. Reports describe Malone’s XV-HD as a turbodiesel powerplant (6.7-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 engine) with an Allison six-speed transmission.
The rig features a carbon-fiber composite one-piece camper shell for strength and leak resistance. It comes with large battery banks and integrated solar to enable long stretches away from shore power. Plus, there are premium interior finishes such as a full gourmet kitchen, luxury trim and 42-inch TV.
While the RV offers such luxury items as a built-in wine cooler and an extra large and innovative refrigerator, its small (five-gallon) cassette toilet would mean more frequent dumping than a traditional holding tank, which could prove inconvenient for long-term boondockers.

Seven keys? Really?
Multiple news posts and social sites note that the rig “requires seven keys” to operate, plus a battery key fob. (That over-the-top key count quickly became a talking point online.) EarthRoamer hasn’t published a list of each’s use, however, the number of keys does suggest the rig’s complex systems and many independent access points.

Malone’s plans
Social posts suggest Malone bought the XV-HD for long-range, off-grid travel and personal use rather than as a showpiece. There’s no detailed public itinerary from Malone about where he’ll go with his new rig.
Here’s a video (below) of the EarthRoamer XV-HD, similar to Malone’s. It illustrates the attention to detail the manufacturer puts into building its RVs. Yet, you may wonder why such luxury is necessary for exploring the vast open spaces of America.
RV manufacturers should take note
Trickle-down innovation is how automotive and RV tech usually spreads. Expensive, bespoke rigs prove what’s possible and create demand for scaled-down versions.
Right now, the big, mainstream trends that mirror the XV-HD are long-range power independence (solar + lithium), smarter electrical management (battery monitoring, isolation, and redundancy), and tougher, leak-proof building techniques.
The RV industry is already moving toward more lithium and solar in mainstream rigs because buyers want boondocking flexibility. EarthRoamer’s approach just shows how far that can go when budget isn’t a constraint. Companies that offer robust, user-friendly power systems, better thermal and water management, and more durable exteriors at accessible price points will likely find demand rising.
