Great RV Accessories Newsletter #50

Greetings, fellow RVers!

Welcome to the 50th issue of this newsletter! Here, among other great stuff we are liking, we revisit the topic of portable power with a review of a new portable power station that even has a 30-amp plug!

Read on!

Portable power stations to power your RV lifestyle

If your RV does not have built-in solar power, portable power stations are the next best thing. Even if your RV does have rooftop solar, a portable power station provides a great backup and, depending on the time of year and the sun’s angle, works better than your rooftop solar. (Quartzsite snowbirders take note: This is the first place where I saw this happen.)

These are a few of the ones I’ve personally tested:

The powerful and versatile OUPES Mega 2 and solar panels

Pupes Mega 2 portable power station and solar panel

The OUPES Mega 2 Power Station is one powerful portable power station. How powerful is it? A 2,500W continuous AC pure sine wave inverter provides power via four AC outlets. Even better, it can handle surges of up to 5,400W. That can power a lot of commonly used devices and appliances! Can this portable power station run an RV air conditioner? The short answer is yes. Get details and check out Cheri’s full review of the OUPES Mega 2 here.

Ugreen PowerRoam 1200 and solar panels

As of this moment, if a friend asked me which solar generator/portable power station they should buy, this would be the one I’d recommend as it has features and functions that help edge out its competitors (assuming they don’t need MASSIVE amounts of power, in which case I would recommend the OUPES model above). Check out why I love this portable power station so much.

Jackery 1500 portable power station and solar panels

Jackery Explorer 1500 portable power station – solar generator reviewI bought my Jackery almost three years ago when I got a deal I couldn’t refuse on Amazon Prime Day. It came complete with four 100-watt portable solar panels. It has served me well ever since. The Jackery Explorer 1500 is compact, easy to carry, and lightweight. Ugreen’s handy 145W portable power bank

Ugreen 145w portable power bank

The small size of the powerful portable power bank makes it easy to take along. Go, have fun, and know that you can always recharge your phone or other devices even if you have been running the battery down taking lots of videos and photos. Plus, having the extra power reserve makes an excellent safety precaution, especially for those who venture far off-grid. Learn more about this handy device charging gadget.

The best electric heaters under $25 for small RVs

the best electric heaters for vans or small trailers

This post busts through the misconception that you can’t run heaters off the grid. The heaters recommended prove that’s just not so, as they require less energy than running three 60-watt lightbulbs. Get the small heater picks.

trailer rehitching easy

By Russ and Tiña De Maris
Folks who tow travel trailers and fifth wheels often struggle with hooking back up after setting up their trailer for livability. The problem is this: You unhitch and level the trailer. When it’s time to hitch up again, getting the front of the trailer to the right height to hitch up can be a pain in the neck. Well, here’s just the thing to make trailer re-hitching easy!

Love the battery filler! I have 3 flooded batteries in my boat, and 2 very hard to access. This should solve the problem! Thanks guys!

I have my battery boxes behind the propane tanks and under the nose cap of my trailer that made it almost imposable to fill the batteries yet see the fill line inside them. A race car friend of mine suggested that I purchase the “Flow-Rite” Pro-Fill watering system available from Amazon. It was the best advise I have ever received about battery maintenance.

Thank you, Cheri! I really like the metal skulls that can be added to a campfire for effect. Have a great week and safe travels!
