Today’s thought
“Morning is wonderful. Its only drawback is that it comes at such an inconvenient time of day.” ―
Need an excuse to celebrate? Today is National Cat Day!
On this day in history: 1792 – Mount Hood (Oregon) is named after Samuel Hood, 1st Viscount Hood, by Lt. William E. Broughton who sighted the mountain near the mouth of the Willamette River.

Brilliant interior RV storage solutions hiding in plain sight
By Gail Marsh
There’s never enough RV storage. Sure, you can haul in crates or shelves, but they can take up much-needed move-around space. That’s why I love these almost invisible RV storage solutions. Perhaps one will work for you.
Take these IKEA cabinets, for example. They are generally marketed as storage for shoes. They do work great for shoes, but they can also be used for many other RV storage needs like maps, linens, and clothing. The best part? This storage solution measures a mere 7 inches from the wall and resembles a built-in feature—practically invisible storage. That makes it perfect for small spaces like your RV. Continue reading.

What is your opinion of RV Roof Magic? Does it work?
By Dave Solberg
Dear Dave,
I was wondering if you have ever or could possibly do a non-biased review on RV Roof Magic? It sounds very interesting, but I’m not a big truster of these kinds of products until a non-biased review is done. Thank you! —Don, 2022 Forest River Salem Hemisphere Read Dave’s answer.

RV oven lighting made easy
By Cheri Sicard
I am consistently surprised at the volume of RVers I encounter who are intimidated by their RV ovens. Some people NEVER use their RV ovens. In fact, I have bought two used RVs in my life whose ovens had never been used, not even once. Invariably, RV oven lighting is the source of these fears. In the video below, Ross from RV Tips & Travels (one of the winners of our 2024 RV video awards) puts an end to that as he demonstrates how easy RV oven lighting can be. Check it out.

Prevent blisters with this easy gadget
By Gail Marsh
Hiking and walking long distances would be great if it weren’t for the blisters! If that’s been your excuse, you definitely need this! I absolutely love that this is a product for blister prevention. Yes, you read that correctly! It prevents blisters! Doesn’t that sound a whole lot better than finding a great first-aid bandage after blisters have already formed? I thought so, too. So if you’re hiking, trust me, you need this!

Quick tip
Dead decal removal
Tired of those worn-out RV sidewall decals crisping up at the edges and making your rig look old and tired? Here’s how one RVer was able to remove his: (1) Use a hair dryer (or heat gun used carefully – works much faster) to warm it up. (2) Slide a fingernail under an edge to begin the pull-off process. Peel carefully, reheating as needed. (3) Use “Goo Gone” to remove any remaining adhesive. (4) Immediately wash off the Goo Gone to protect the rig’s gel coat.

• 31 percent perform volunteer work on a regular basis.

Trivia
George Washington made whiskey! Our first president had his own whiskey distillery, Mount Vernon, in Virginia. At the time, it was one of the largest whiskey distilleries in America, producing 11,000 gallons of the stuff in 1799! You can read more about it here (and plan your visit to the distillery, which is still brewin’!).
Readers’ pet of the day
“My just-over-three-year-old cat, Kitty, travels with me in my van during road trips. He’s feral but looks like a Russian Blue. He’s quite used to exploring while wearing his harness and leash, although very skittish around people. I leave the van door open while he’s outside and he will periodically look back to confirm it’s open in case he needs to run back inside.” —Bill Head
Happy National Cat Day, Kitty. Hope Bill spoils you today (and every day)!
Send us a photo of your pet with a short description. We publish one each weekday in RV Daily Tips and in our Sunday RV Travel newsletter. No blurry photos, please! Please do not submit your photo more than once. Thanks!

We travel with 5 cats and love all of them. People think were crazy, but we love all of them. They stay in the motorhome.
We just walked through IKEA last week and saw that same storage cabinet and thought how perfect it would be for shoes in our RV.
We’re not intimidated by the RV oven. We just find that our toaster oven is much more versatile. And, as the toaster oven sits on the countertop it is so much easier to access than stooping down to the propane oven. Also, we usually have power so it saves on propane.
I removed all the decals on the front of my trailer because most had shrunk and were cracking and peeling. I use a air dryer and plastic razor blades. It was time consuming, but not hard.
I used prep-sol to remove the adhesive, available at auto body parts stores.
The only downside was the adhesive around the edges was attacked by the UV rays and baked into the finish. Most came out with a light polishing compound.
Now it looks like I have very faint “Ghost” decals. It doesn’t bother me and actually looks like “Ghost” decals.
One thing I’ve noticed on a lot of newer trailers is the lack of decals. Look much cleaner without the swoops and swirls.
The weather map people appear to not know whether there will be weather in Florida or whether not, therefore they most always show the weather to be in rain. We did have weather today and it was dry sunny and breezy beautiful weather, whether, or not the weather people believe it.
Never seen it’s a wonderful life ? Must be living under a rock
I was thinking the same thing.
Our RV oven lights, but goes out 3-5 times before staying on. This started about five minutes after the warranty expired, shocked!
We normally just use the convection microwave when power permits.
Do I ever want to move to another state? I did. left Michigan for NC. So love the weather until summer. Then I snowbird to Maine. Michigan is still like NC. Hot and humid. Great decision I ever made.
When Fleetwood refused to pay advertising fees I removed all decals. So glad I did the original paint still looks great.03 39L
Thank you, Emily and Diane! Have a great week and safe travels!
