Can you dump your holding tanks in your home septic system?
We often see RVers give advice that dumping holding tanks at home is not a problem—even into septic systems—rather than a city sewer system. Here are a couple of points to keep in mind:
Home septic systems are generally tasked to handle a relatively low flow of sewage over a period of hours. Dumping a large amount of RV waste at once could lead to disturbing the layer of sludge in a home septic tank—possibly causing it to break up and move out into the leach field. But on another note…

Should homeless RVers observe the same rules as other RVers?

My wife and I prefer boondocking on public land. We sometimes find ourselves camping in the vicinity of those who are less fortunate than ourselves. I am referring to those who are considered homeless or unhoused residing in an RV as their last resort for shelter rather than choosing an RV as a primary residence by choice, like full-time RVers. Many homeless RVers have taken refuge on USFS or BLM land, as it is plentiful in the West with areas open to dispersed camping and not far from larger cities to obtain services. I have no issue with this if they keep a clean camp and abide by the regulations. Continue reading. What do you think?

Is it just me or does National Women’s Heart Health Day and National Fettuccine Alfredo Day falling on the same day seem somewhat in opposition. Salmon over greens for lunch and a plate of Fettuccine for dinner? Just sayin.

I believe all dogs act the same when it comes to Rv-ing. When we start packing on Thursday for a quick Friday departure our dog goes nuts. She will NOT go into the house Thursday night. Don’t try to move her, there will be blood.
