11 egg-cellent tips for RVers who love eggs

I’m not a big fan of chickens. An ill-mannered rooster chased and pecked my ankles when I was 6, but I still love eggs! Here are some egg-cellent tips for RVers.
First, you can conduct a float test to determine the freshness of your eggs. Fill a clear glass with water until it’s 3/4 full. Carefully place an uncooked egg into the glass. If the egg sinks and comes to rest on its side at the bottom of the glass, it’s fresh. If the egg sinks on end or at a slant, it’s not as fresh but it’s perfect for hard boiling. If the egg floats, it is no longer fresh, and you need to toss it out.

RV’s kitchen floor has soft spots but was told there are no leaks?
Dear Dave,
I thought my fifth wheel might have a water leak causing soft places in the RV’s kitchen floor. I took it to Lazydays RV and they said it has no water leaks, that it’s the Styrofoam breaking down. I bought new flooring; I just need someone to fix the soft spots. —Milton, 2015 Forest River 5th wheel

Today’s RV review is of the 2024 Keystone Springdale 286BHU bunkhouse travel trailer. This is a bunkhouse trailer with a fairly decent cargo carrying ability. But there are a few things about this trailer that might generate comments, which I always appreciate.

Honey Baked Chicken

Need a new way to prepare chicken? Try this honey baked chicken. Very easy to make, once baked the chicken tastes similar to a General Tso chicken. There’s a bit of sweetness and spice. Simmering the sauce and pouring it over the baked chicken punches up the flavors when serving.
Trivia
The very first U.S. dollar bill was issued in 1862 and featured a portrait of Salmon P. [Portland] Chase. Chase was the then-sitting U.S. Secretary of the Treasury. He remained on the dollar bill until 1869, when his portrait was replaced with the first U.S. President, George Washington. However, years later Chase reappeared on the $10,000 bill, a certificate used to trade currency between banks. Huh!

Django is a beautiful traveling companion.
You can buy a sewer cap that has a hose fitting built in that allows you to check for sewage before removing the big guy.
Get one that’s clear with the hose fitting, only problem is that stops the surprise.

Thank you sooooo veeeerrrrry much for the website of the day! Even though DW and her mom planned a 3-month visit to Alaska in 2018 and early 2019, which we completed in 2019, this website was unknown to her. I imagine that it will help in the planning of next year’s trip there. Thanks again, have a great weekend, safe travels, and safe stays! 🙂
