Don’t ever do these 6 things at the dump station!
By Nanci Dixon
Don’t do these things at the dump station! There are a few important rules of dump station etiquette that are for everyone, not just newbies. I was recently reminded of this…
After a season with mostly full hookups and no need to go to a dump station, I was first surprised by the line… until I realized that it was Sunday and the weekend warriors were on their way back to their day jobs. We have been full-time RVing for so long I forgot about the Sunday line. It was taking a very long time and, not known for my patience, I tried to figure out what was wrong. What I saw was a good reminder.

Floor is rotted under slideout of 2023 Grand Design. Why?
Dear Dave,
Our unit is one year old, and Grand Design has been involved for some very quirky issues. Two weeks shy of the one-year mark we find out the floor is rotted under the side of our RV with the slide. I’m told it’s caused by driving in rain from wheel well spray. They are repairing this under warranty, but why would this happen in a one-year-old unit? We bought the Grand Design with the thought it was one of the better-made units. Were we wrong? What should we make sure they do to prevent future problems? Thank you. —Doreen, 2023 Grand Design 270BN

Flagstaff Super Lite 26RBWS – That’s much better
Today’s RV review is of the 2024 Flagstaff Super Lite 26RBWS. I very specifically chose this model after taking a look at the Jayco Jay Feather 25RB recently. This is also a prime example of why I recommend looking further if you find a floor plan that you like. Oftentimes if someone makes it, several companies do. And this is an example of what a difference the various RV companies make in how they make decisions.
So what are the differences in how this rig is built compared to the Jayco? How much time do you have?

A reminder if you have hydraulic leveling jacks or slide-out system
Here are example pictures and general information about why it’s important to maintain your hydraulic leveling jacks.
If you have hydraulic leveling jacks or a slide-out system, you want to periodically check the hydraulic fluid level in your reservoir.

Is the RVer knocking on your door a “swinger”? One clue
By Cheri Sicard
In [this video], Bob and Karri from Life Redesigned tell a tale of an unusual knock they got on their RV door. As the topic surrounds RV swingers, they warn that this video is for mature audiences only. But it will humorously answer the question of what do colored loofah sponges, flamingos, and pineapples have to do with swapping partners.
Why go big? The case for owning a king-sized RV
By Mike Sherman
A debate on RV size is almost a waste of time. It’s a question that’s been debated for years. Everyone has an opinion. Go BIG? Go small? Have you ever wondered when you’re parked next to a huge RV that you may never see the occupants unless they have a dog to walk? For many, that large RV is all they’ve got. There’s no stick home sitting on 5 acres waiting for their return. Everything they own is in that rig. Everything! Continue reading.

DIY handy shirt closet shelves
Got one of those shirt closets next to your bed but don’t need it for hanging? Facebook member Beth H. fixed her problem with wire shelving and Command hooks from Lowe’s. “I bought a wire shelf from Lowe’s and cut it down to the sizes I needed. Then I attached Command hooks to the sidewalls and now I have shelves. Easily removed if I need more hanging room.”

Shrimp Kabobs
by Terrie Hoelscher from Harpers Ferry, WV
Need a quick and easy meal? Give these shrimp kabobs a try. The hardest part is waiting for the shrimp to marinate for an hour. After that, you’ll have dinner on the table in 10 minutes. Once grilled, the shrimp are sweet and tangy with a slightly smoky taste. Full of flavor, we love how easy this was to throw together.
Trivia
The popular TV show “American Idol” is considered responsible for teaching Americans how to text message. When the show first aired in 2002, “American Idol” featured audience participation by call-in voting. If they wanted to vote for a contestant to win, they’d call the “American Idol” phone number and input that contestant’s individual number code. In the second season of the show, they introduced text message voting, provided you had AT&T (a sponsor) cell service, that is. “American Idol” was largely responsible for getting Americans to learn how to text back then in 2003, with more than 7.5 million text messages sent in to the show in just two seasons alone.

Great quote from George Bernard Shaw (slightly rephrased) … often attibuted to RFK or JFK. Also apparently attributed by some sources to Pablo Picasso.
