10 reasons why you need a wok in your RV kitchen
By Cheri Sicard
Woks are the most important cooking implement in traditional Chinese kitchens. But guess what? The large sloped-sided pans are also one of the best multi-tasking tools you can pack in your RV kitchen.
Of course, if you enjoy Chinese cooking, or stir-frying in general, using a wok is a given. But if you think outside the box, woks have a LOT more uses than that. This is because of their large size and also their distinctive sloping walls that allow you to move food around the cooking surface without it spilling over and making a mess.
Another benefit cooks will find is that the large wok cooking surface features two distinct temperature zones. Directly over the flame will be great for searing, quick-cooking, and other high-heat tasks. Use the sloping sides to keep foods cooking but at lower, gentler rates.

Furnace airflow issue follow-up with photos
Yesterday I posted a question from Cynthia regarding no airflow in one of her RV’s furnace vents. Today I received a response from her with several photos of the vent tubing and thought it would be a good follow-up for readers to see what might be the issue.

RV Reviews
Review of the familiar-sounding 2024 Cherokee Arctic Wolf 23MLE fifth wheel
Today’s RV review is of the Cherokee Arctic Wolf 23MLE fifth wheel. Does that nomenclature sound familiar? It should: On Monday we looked at one with the same model designation from a different manufacturer.
Today’s fifth wheel is a product of the folks at Forest River’s Cherokee division, whereas the Keystone Cougar 23MLE is one of Thor’s products. And it’s a popular one. So this reinforces something I’ve encouraged RV shoppers to do for some time now: Shop your RV dealership first.

Sawdust and metal shavings in your RV can pose health risks, especially to children and pets
Join me and my techs in the video below as we discuss a recently received inquiry regarding a consumer finding wood and metal shavings throughout their brand-new RV. Shavings in new RVs are inevitable when there is a lack of care or concern during the manufacturing process.
However, wood dust becomes a potential health problem when wood particles from processes such as sanding and cutting become airborne. Breathing these particles may cause allergic respiratory symptoms, mucosal and non-allergic respiratory symptoms, and cancer.

Quick Tip
Time to defrost the fridge?
RV refrigerator seemingly not as cold as it should be? Open the fridge door and examine the cooling fins at the back of the compartment. If they’re coated with ice, it’s time to defrost. Shut off the fridge, remove the food to an ice chest with ice, insert a pan of hot water in the fridge and close the door. Prepare to mop up the meltdown. Restart and reload.

Pimento Cheese Stuffed Chicken
by Renee’ Klevenhagen from Midland, NC
Pimento cheese is a Southern staple. Stuff it inside a chicken breast and you have a delicious and easy stuffed chicken recipe. Cut into the juicy and tender chicken, and the cheesy center oozes out. We love the crunchy Panko outer layer. So much yumminess!
Trivia
Snail teeth, specifically the tiny teeth of the limpet, a type of marine snail, is the strongest biological substance found in nature. These small snails attach themselves to rocks and scrape nutrients and algae off with a tongue covered in teeth. To put it into perspective: If you scaled the teeth up to, say, the diameter of a strand of spaghetti, that piece of spaghetti would be capable of holding up a compact car like a Honda Civic without breaking. Wow!

I am upset with ads on TV from Chevrolet silverado touting hands free driving and hands free towing ! I think the RV community should speak out against this before major accidents occur. Just my thoughts
The way some people drive today, this “hands free” option may very well be an improvement! 😉
Agreed.
Any “idiot” who would “think” about driving hands free should loose their license!
Here is a thought How about offering a monthly or yearly subscription for a TOTALLY AD FREE issue. If these video ads keep up I will probably unsubscribe.
Here is another thought. How about all the folks that read this newsletter for free contribute. Then they wouldn’t have to resort to outside advertising.
You’re promoting breathalyzers from Amazon? Really? Anyone that needs one of those for personal use has a drinking problem and shouldn’t be allowed to drive at all. Shame on you. Why not just say that is it OK to be impaired as long as you stay under the limits.
The amount of annoying ads are beginning to change my opinion of this great site, and I contribute!
The ad for the hands free driving should follow the one for the breathalyzer.
That way when you get pulled over, you can tell the cop you knew you were over the limit, but the truck was driving itself.
These video ads suck big time. If this continues I’m outa here.
I echo that sentiment.
I agree if the ads continue I’m also out of here.
I know you said the format will change, but the printing is so small, it is not enjoyable to read and I feel I will have to give up.
Hold down Windows key AND plus key.
Just ignore the ads. Turn your volume off. Scroll past them.
In case you advertising nay-sayers haven’t realized it, RV Travel is a business and the ONLY thing that keeps it afloat is PROFIT. It’s simply Economic 101. Chuck and Emily have a large staff that require salaries. The company has business expenses that are paid out of profits. All businesses – except our Federal government – require them to return a profit to the bottom line in order to stay in business. And, also to continue offering a service to its customers/readers. RVT is the BEST RV’ing web site out there.
Well put!
I don’t mind the regular ads. I can scroll past them if I want. It’s the popup ads that cause the problem. I read this site on my phone or 7 inch tablet. I often get 2 pop-up ads at the same time. This leaves about 1 inch of screen space to read the site. Sure I can close the ad but often another just replaces it. I often just give up and delete the site.
I don’t see any video ads or popups. Of course I run an adblocker…
Or use Linux.
Same here. The only thing I notice is that the pages load a little slower. Happens on all sites that I block ads.
Seriously if you drink so much you need your own personal breathalyzer you have a drinking problem.
Sawdust is a health hazard? Really? I’m a wood worker and wear dust protection when doing certain operations. Having some sawdust on the floor from a cut hole or other manufacturing in the RV is far from a dangerous health hazard.
I agree. I’ve been working with wood and metal shavings from a drill bit for 60 years and it hasn’t affected my health at all. I doubt the little bits of shavings in an rv would be an issue, but the assembly people should take pride in their work and clean up after themselves.
Hey Chuck & Emily, just so you know … the ads are not bothering me one tiny bit. My focus is in your content, not the static around the fringe.
And by the way … If folks watch TV or listen to radio, their ads are MUCH more intrusive than internet ads. And we are all used to that.
I agree, easy enough to scroll on past the ads. I chose to not look for things to complain about. My biggest complaint…..so much interesting content I spend too much time every day reading the newsletter 🙂
I love all the ads! If I drank alcohol, I would certainly want a breathalyzer. If I was lazy, I would want self-driving. If I wanted a vacation rental, I would want vrbo. If I wanted to be stronger and have more energy, I would want steroids and energy drinks. If I had B.O., I would want some pitstick. If I had breast cancer, I would want that poison. If I was fat, I would want nutrition and exercise advice. If I had E.D., I would want weaner medicine. Hmmm…come to think of it, if I wanted or needed anything, maybe I could use a search engine and look it up rather than be bombarded with senseless ads of which I do not care even though I send RVT money every month?
Thank you, Emily and Diane! 🙂 I really enjoyed that laugh of the day. I didn’t quite laugh, but I did smile broadly. 🙂 I hope that you have a great day! 🙂
Really? What are all these ads that are being complained about? People threatening to unsubscribe because of them? IMHO anyone who doesn’t understand that the problem is on >their< end, and doesn’t understand how easy it would be for >themselves< to resolve it, … well please, either just shut up or go ahead and unsubscribe. This website is about RVing, not about your inability to deal with an issue of your own making. Enough, already. Please!
‘On the thought of the day’, My favorite day is any day where temperature is above my age!!! 😂😂😂
I read the newsletter on tablet. If Chuck had not warned in the newsletter that more ads were going to be on website I would have noticed no difference. Keep up the good work! Most of us can navigate the ads with no problem. No big deal to me…….and I contribute to the newsletter!
Just now, While trying to type in my comments, the exact issue Im bring forward occurred and wiped out what I had typed. PLEASE FIRE THE NEW ADD COMPANY!!! The adds pop up and cover what I’m trying to read!!! A More aggravating issue is how the adds make the pages jump all over while I’m trying to read on my IPhone. I constantly need to go back and scroll around to find where I left off. Two friends I turned on to RVTravel have sent me messages asking if I’ve seen the “B.S. changes” saying the new format “SUCKS” and that they’re not going to bother with it anymore. I am a volunteer donor. I truly enjoy RVTravel. Please fix this before I too am forced to bail!!!
Hmm, complaints about the ads. I’d better not complain because I scroll past them so fast I don’t notice what they are. No, really, I don’t notice them—just block them out I guess.
I don’t see any ads.
